What this covers

This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this site or place an order, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. It applies to this website and to orders placed through it.

What we collect

When you place an order we collect the information needed to fulfil it: your name, shipping address, email address, and the contents and history of your order. Because payment is by Zelle, we also see the payment reference and the fact that a payment matching your order was received. We do not collect or store card numbers, because we do not take card payments.

If you create an account, we store your email address and a securely hashed version of your password — never the password itself. If you contact us for support, we keep what you send so we can answer and keep a record of the exchange.

Like most websites, our host and infrastructure providers automatically log basic technical data such as IP address and browser type for security and reliability. We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies to keep your cart and your signed-in session working; we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Why we use it

We use your information to take and fulfil your order, to match your Zelle payment to your order, to send you order-related email (confirmation, payment received, shipping, and similar), to provide customer support, to keep records the law requires us to keep, and to protect the site and our customers from fraud and abuse.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. See our "Do not sell my information" page for more on that.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the service providers who make the store work, and only so they can perform that function for us: our website host, our database and file-storage provider, our email-delivery provider, and shipping carriers. Each of these handles the data on our instructions.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to comply with a lawful request, or to protect our rights, our customers, or the public.

Email you receive

Order-related emails (confirmation, payment, shipping, and the back-in-stock waiting list you asked to join) are part of the service you requested. If you joined a back-in-stock waiting list, every one of those emails includes a one-click link to stop them, and we honour it.

How long we keep it

We keep order and transaction records for as long as we need them to run the business and to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations — generally about 7 years. Account information is kept while your account is open. When you delete your account we remove your account profile, though we may retain order records we are legally required to keep, in a form tied to the order rather than to a live account.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to limit how we use it. You can manage your account details when signed in, and you can ask us to delete your account. To make any of these requests, write to the contact address shown under "Who we are" below, and we will respond as the law requires.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Children

This site is intended for professional and institutional researchers and is not directed to anyone under 21. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21.

Security

We protect your information with access controls, encryption in transit, and the principle that we collect only what an order actually needs. No system is perfectly secure, but we design the store to hold as little sensitive data as possible — which is part of why there is no card data here to lose.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date below tells you when this version took effect.
